Manyo Planetary System

Summary

In the Xychz-o (SIICH-OH) & Likst (LICKST) binary star system, Manyo (MAHN-YO) is the sole planet to the pair of stars in the cosmic body. It is located 5,000 lightyears (years on Karrots) north-east of the Universal Equator, facing rimward, outside of any galaxies, but in the general Yu'wen Cluster. It was uninhabited until members of the race Ackiians (AK-KEE-INZ) settled on the world to manufacturer ships in a private company named StarWing Enterprises. Its surface was razed by The Infinite Empire during The Endless War for Eternal Throne.

Manyo

Atmosphere

The planet Manyo has a simple and uniform atmosphere. One half is constantly warmed, due to the presence of the star Likst. The ozone layer coating the planet was constantly windy due to the terrain. Being entirely oxygen, with traces of hydrogen, caused by the constant heat and light exposure, and waves on the liquid surface. Most of the Manyo inhabitants lived in the exosphere, in space stations orbiting the world.

Terrain

Residents mapped the planet in two hemispheres, east and west. The planet experiences night only on its eastern half. The west is entirely exposed to solar light at all times due to the planet's orbit and rotation spinning in parallel. The inhabitants consider synchronous rotation good for work environments, ideal for workplaces like StarWing Enterprises. It also benefits industries such as mining, construction, manufacturing and assembly.

The ground is mostly soil, and lacking in plant life, formed from eroded bedrock, which is made of rock silicates, giving it a rusted red appearance due to the oxygen-filled wind interacting with the ground. The liquid on the planet's east side is always frozen. The west's heat gave way to a liquid form of this metal. A small number of mercury lakes and rivers chug along the terrain's softer soil and often get stuck the farther from the equator they flow, cooling toward the poles.

The element mercury was not discovered in the universe until this planet was found. The hops added it to the period chart with the name given to it by Manyo's new residents: Novlin (NOHV-LEEN).

The planet also exerts a weak magnetic pull, suggesting a slowing molten metal core.

Rotation & Revolution

The planet revolves around the largerstar, Xychz-o. The star Likst, has an identical orbit with Manyo, meaning one side has continuous daylight, but Likst is eclipsed by Xychz-o. The world does not rotate rapidly, taking nearly 2,000 microrbits to complete one day as well as one year. Due to constant light exposure, much work occurs on half the planet.

History

Around the period of the First Great Hop Expansion, a race of fluff beings named Ackiians settled on the world during their own study of the stars. The group that arrived was searching for fairly-sized remote planets far from the Hoppists, K'Ursan Federation and other beings. Disagreeing with the way other parties handled development, especially regarding environmental impact and resources. They chose to make this place their home for the production of vehicles, travel, military and destruction/construction alike. A major company founded here was StarWing enterprises, named so after a mythical space-dwelling being that flew in the ether of space as if in air, resting on planets it blessed. The Ackiians often survived their somewhat hostile world by trading their products for more workers, resources or services.
