Universal Equator
Summary & History
In order to traverse space, a 3 dimensional map was made created to assist in plotting navigation along the realm. Sop, once leader of Karrots, redrew this map using gravity fields and all available images of space around the universe. The names have been translated from Hoppish/Hoppese/Hopspeak into this language. This was crucial to the Great Hop Expansions. Charting the stars, planetary bodies and many other astro-phenomenae found in space.
Location
The 3D map is like a globe. Measuring with Karrots on the west side of the equator, flanked by an imaginary line. This line is drawn to bisect Karrots, and Buddy's homeworld, K'ursa Prime equidistantly. Even when they orbit, they have an identical orbit speed to their star, and align at exactly the same point relative to the equator even including leap years. If laid flat like a 2D map, at the new year, when the orbits complete, the equator would be a straight up and down like with the planets exactly opposite of the line.
Rimward refers to toward the edge of the universe, away from Unis in the equator in any direction. Coreward refers to any direction toward the star, Unis (YOO-NISS).
Navigation
Unis happens to spin in place and never burn out, and sits flat between K'ursa and Karrots at the new year line. This is an ideal reference point for all maps, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional. If Unis were to be destroyed, it would not matter, as the point it represents is hardcoded in all maps and navigational devices. This ensures a tools like gravity sensors and compasses can dictate where they are in the universe without additional information, even in uncharted spaces.
