Summary

A universal sport, Hiprscip (hip-er-skihp) is a very popular full-contact performance contest among all fluffy races. With few rules, high skill and strength are essential to an entertaining viewer experience, but also a steep challenge for competitors. Usually done 1 vs 1, in an arena, with observing referee and timed from the start of the conflict, this sport is highly sought out by most hops seeking non-military activity.

Before engaging in military and combat training, Hop was given permission by his father to perform and compete at a title level due to his potential and energy for fighting. Due to stampeding his challengers, Hop had to move onto stronger races in the cosmos. Eventually, Hop became bored due to the rules and lack of variety of movement used. He also disliked being recorded during his performance, which became a common trend at the time. He left eventually, but was a favorite of many hops who viewed at the time, representing his race. Hop appointed a stable to surpass him, asking retired veterans from the Grand Sop Army to participate. Hoppists can actually earn rank by outcompeting those in their class.

Classes are determined by race, size, weight, lifting strength, age and sex for races that have that. As the sport evolved many high profile hops and other fluffy races became big names and famous for their prowess. Group fights, exclusive rule matches and other variations were made for those with the ability to surpass the supernatural. The sport is still played to this day, even with machines and robots for those with the skill to create such toys.

History

Inception

Before Sop's Ascension, back when most hops on Karrots prayed to multiple gods, one debate between followers of opposing "war" and "battle" gods came to a formal contest of strength on the plains of the world. After a several day long bout, the original opponents decided the style of contest was too fun to be solely a means of settling a physical disagreement. A list of rules and requirements were made.

Over time this became a national sport and all of Karrots found a new form of physical entertainment. Other races were short the sport and rules and it was widely adopted across the stars.

Modern Appearance

After the Hop Civil War, the sport returned to its former glory, and many races participated with hops in the grand competitive sport. Many different titles, variations and official brands of the sport became universally popular again.

Standard Rules & Win Conditions

Win conditions:

  • Pinning the limbs or head to the ground for 5 continuous moments causes a victory.
  • Opponent loses consciousness for 10 moments straight or twice during the match.
  • Surrender or being pinned for 5 continuous moments causes a loss.
  • Cheating causes a loss (however your opponent may vote to allow this with the ref if they are enabling a handicap, before or after the fact).

The initial rules still used today are:

  1. No weapons or armor. Clothing must be removed once entering the arena.
  2. There is 1 continuous round that lasts a microrbit. Overtime occurs if neither competitor surrenders. Overtime reduces pin time to 3 seconds, then to 1 second if occurred again. After that, each round onward uses 1 second pin time.
  3. Getting the body off the ground at any point no matter how short resets the pin count.
  4. Competitors cannot jump onto, nor scale/climb the walls, nor go under the ground to escape their opponent.
  5. Strikes, grabs, pins and throws are allowed to all parts of the body but they cannot aim for vitals.
