Sop

Summary

Sop Hoppington-Hoppenhiemer is the greatest and most powerful entity to ever be fluffed. Sop was and still remains the King of all Hopkind. Long ago, Sop ascended mortality and existence for his place among the inconceivable with Gop. Most are familiar with Hop Hoppington-Hoppenhiemer, who is actually the Jr. of Sop. However Sop renamed sopself to help others distinguish father from son. After his ascension, Sop watches over and observing Hop and his Journey.

Sop is now an inconceivable, all powerful being above the realm of reality and existence itself, along with Gop. Hops see existence as all dimensions, time, and all concepts, period. Since Sop and Gop sit this high up, the only distinguishable feature is that Gop came first and created the ability to create, and then allowed existence and concepts to be elaborated by the laws of nature, set in place by gopself. The only one to ever deny or ascend them is Sop.

Names

Sop goes by many names due to his legendary status and long history. He has gone by:

• (King/Prince) Hop Hoppington-Hoppenhiemer: his original name
• (King/Prince) Sop Hoppington-Hoppenhiemer: current and preffered name
• The Hopfather: name on his home world, Karrots, after Hop was brought into existence
• "Yinruwuda Hisk-hin": translated from Olde Hopspeak, meaning "The Destroyer of the Darkness"
• "Bi'i Slenn'in": translated from K'Ursan,roughly meaning "The Colorless One" (refers to his fur color being either striking white or pitch black)
• "Sintom oot Vadnii": translated from the text of the Infinite Empire, roughly meaning "Leader of the Sinto People" (Sinto is the name of the hops in the primary fleshy language)

History

Early Life

Sop was the proud and only offspring of the widowed queen, Yop. She ruled self-declared independent state from the rest of Karrots, avoiding the "services and protection" of The Council Courts. Their home was on the border of D'lushia and Ambaria, a small kingdom isolated from the world.

Sop was raised in an outlandish abode, often visited by monks that influenced Sop's beliefs. He invented a belief system he only intended himself to follow. Later coined as Soppipsism, a monotheistic successor to the polytheistic religions popular in folklore and culture prior, this inspired his lifestyle once his mother decided she was to rest, making her child a lonely king to no one. Ruling no other person was a way of life that Sop felt wrong about, he wanted to lead others to better themselves, as his beliefs stood.

Inheriting his family belongings and land, Sop went from a short-lived life of luxury, twisted into one of hardships and self-improvement. He travelled Karrots by foot and paw for orbits. Training like a soldier, Sop recruited followers that became his closest confidants and the original Knights of Sop, eventually forming the original division of the Grand Sop Army. As a peak member of his kind, Sop's life had much influence by the rest of hopkind, allying with those who disliked the way Karrots was ruled.

Adolescence

Once Sop approached adulthood, he worked diligently to undo the corruption of the society on Karrots. He would one day destroy The Council Courts and undo their laws and systemic oppression of their fellow hops. He was highly praised for standing up to them, as well as his power on display. Society tried to name him king, but he did not like the title, seeing himself as another ruler to one day be overthrown.

Instead, betraying his own safety, instituted what is now known as an autocracy, deeming the strongest should lead the hops. The strongest should also strive to be the wisest, as strength without guidance is weakness in disguise. Being the most powerful by a wide margin, he insisted anyone who could overthrow him should lead their people, but he claimed he would have a family that "would learn from him and attempt to do their best to follow in his lifestyle, to at the very least, maintain the goal of peace, and protecting the simple lifestyles on their homeworld." This made Sop appear selfless, and his mindset to be in the best interest of others, while improving himself at all times to keep vile desires away from hopkind.

Family Life

Between his grandest days in history, Sop did falter in one of his core beliefs. He willed to serve another that wasn't Gop. The struggle to resist loving another and his faith caused him to pray deeply in solitude for orbits at a time, hoping his feelings would dissipate as his faith hardened. But in his search, his Journey became clear. Gop alluded that Sop must pursue love and embrace his natural urges, as lying to himself would not lead to self-improvement.

Sop found a beautiful soul who enchanted him. She was entirely unlike the other hops, in mind and voice. Even with years apart, she recalled his personality and fondly recounted the times they discussed their beliefs in secret. Sop's unfaithful side was revealed by Gop to be the gift of free will and free thinking. His guilt melted away in the times of blissful conversation with her. The temptation to see her and speak with her overcame him and his profess his love of her one day.

In time, they became more than fascinated with each other. They had no boundaries, no secrets or fears that they did not entrust the other with. Sop could trust his partner with his entire livelihood, as vulnerable as he could be and she returned the gesture, admiring his honesty and faith with her own. Sop believed in truer love than most had, where it was not solely about making a family or social posture, but instead to experience the feelings only lovers could, the rare feeling of unrelenting trust and vulnerability being returned with caring and thoughtful passion.

Lowering one's guard became a theme in their courtship, until one day in the far future, where Sop would visit a hellscape world to construct a special one-of-a-kind wedding gift for his soon-to-be wife. The fear Sop overcame to make it required him to challenge himself deeply. The Journey tested him and his faith, which made him question his life decisions on the way back home, with her gift in his grasp. This drove him to take advantage of his well-known leave and hide away for a time. Upon returning home an orbit later, his wife was utterly worried about his absence. He confessed he was scared after all his effort, this gift wasn't worth the stress it caused them both, and he wasn't worthy of her. But in all their experience of love, she understood where his feelings stemmed from and forgave him.

Breaking down in painful sorrow, she carried him home, caring not for the gift. A Knight that accompanied Sop home retrieved it and delivered it to the castle of Sop's first home, where he and his wife lived at the time. They closed themselves off from society for a period, and the Knights assured society their role model was well and training himself to become stronger for them. Inside the walls, Sop was recovering from depression under the tender and gentle care of his wife.

One day, she left the castle, the Knights standing guard just outside the walls, they ran to her and asked for the status of the king. She declared there was no king, that only Gop ruled the hops and that her lover was a just another hop, and did not want him to be seen as an idol. He wants to set an example, but not make all live like him. The Knights left to spread the word, whereas she turned back to the castle door, to notice the gift, wrapped in a small custom made decorative container. She took it inside and asked to open it in front of Sop. After discovering the gift and the significance it had to her, they swore to eternal marriage. When the Knights returned upon days later, Sop stood tall before them, his wife now wearing his gift, covered her appearance with a flowing robe covering her body and face.

They declared the castle would become a historic monument and they would move into a ward in the poorer Ambaria to humble themselves, and cease their self-imposed high expectations. There, they had and raised their first child, named after his father, who would later go on to change his name so his son could carry the family name. Hop was brought into the world and his legacy as the sole strongest would end. Instead, he would be a leader, a loving family member and fight for others.

The First Great Hop Expansion

After the proper founding of the Grand Sop Army, the oligarchy of Hoppism the world over erasing the flawed ways of the Courts, therein protecting the hops. All would be treated equally and given ample opportunity to improve their quality of life by serving the military and doing acts of public service. Many could also begin a company, an example being the Royal Ampbersamd Company, that provides a unique and useful technology through fair trade.

With these improvements in society, Sop demanded that society on Karrots could be spread to other worlds, to prevent further suffering, provide more universal benefits and protect the Universe from entropy that is hastened by reckless behavior. The hops of Karrots began to explore beyond their world, high into the sky and into space, beyond the moon and twin stars of the system. Before the invention of Electric Eyes that shuttled matter far beyond lightspeed, long voyages were planned and taken in shifts. Exploring worlds, scanning spatial phenomena and meeting others in the Universe to speak to. Newly discovered beings were translated by generation-spanning "on-worlders" who lived on a foreign world long enough to understand the native form of communication and bridge hopspeak with their language.

Technology was introduced but never given freely to the other beings, especially if they were less advanced, as it could prove destructive due to greed and power-hungry beings wanting it for only themselves. Knights of Sop would train

Ascension

Sop kept on with his beliefs for so long, that Gop found Sop to be worthy of achieving enlightenment. The Ascension of Sop hoppened on Karrots on 1SA (Sop's Ascension). In doing this, Gop put on a massive display for the Universe. Instantly growing all carrots, and changing the definition of immortality for all races, possibly excluding Hops. Gop was creating a gigantic new homeworld for all Hops to live on, but instead, it was found out he just transformed the original one slightly, by inserting a river along the mostly untouched equator.

The Universe expanded, so large that, a particle compared to the Universe is only a fraction of the scale of what the Universe is to what it would become afterwards. Karrots is at a size comparable to what fleshies consider the 'observable universe'.

Since then, the only being to maintain contact with Sop was his son, and hop-fully, one day, Hop hopself will ascend to Sop's level, and be one with the Universe again. Until then, Sop is stoic, absent from the universe and very rarely heard, even by Hop.
